Wesley R. McCammon, MSNS
| Wesley R. McCammon will be teaching Principles of Biomedical science. This course provides an introduction to the biomedical sciences through exciting hands-on projects and problems. Mr. McCammon has only recently moved to the area from Brandon, Mississippi. He is bringing 14 years of teaching experience to Eastern and has a Master’s Degree in Natural Science from Delta State University. Prior to Eastern, Mr. McCammon taught Biology I, AP Biology, and Introduction to Biology at Pisgah High School. From 2003 to 2010, Mr. McCammon had a 100% passing rate on the State Biology Exam for Mississippi. Mr. McCammon has also taught as an adjunct instructor for Holmes Community College for the past 5 years teaching Principles of Biology, General Biology, and Nutrition. In 2003 and in 2006, Mr. McCammon was awarded the Metro Chamber of Commerce “Top Teacher” award and in 2006 was awarded the Pisgah High School Teacher of the Year, Rankin County Teacher of the Year, and the Third Congressional District of Mississippi Teacher of the Year. Further, he received the “Value Added” award from Mississippi State University for achieving Biology scores much higher than predicted based on his student’s previous state tests. In various other schools, Mr. McCammon has taught Dual Enrollment courses, Human Anatomy, Biology II, Field Botany, Field Zoology, Environmental Science, Geology, Genetics, Aquatic Science, and Junior High Science. Mr. McCammon enjoys science fiction including Star Trek and Doctor Who. He enjoys working with computers and learning new ways to use technology to enhance education. Being new to the area, he loves to explore DC and take in all the history. |
